The Vidor Pirates have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Little Cypress-Mauriceville. If Vidor was looking for revenge after losing 55-52 to them when the teams met on Tuesday, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Vidor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madison Powell, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Powell hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Stephenson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Vidor has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-9 record this season. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-9.
Vidor will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
