South Eugene hasn't had much luck against Sheldon recently, but that could start to change  on Saturday. The Axe will take on the Irish at 12:00  p.m.
South Eugene is headed into Saturday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  on Tuesday. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roseburg.
Meanwhile, Sheldon entered their tilt with South Salem on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Saxons 15-4. Considering the Irish's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Soraya Dorsey was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Dorsey was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run and four  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Ella Alfano and  Braelyn Stone did most of the damage at the plate:  Alfano  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI, while  Stone  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI. Those  two  runs gave  Alfano a new career-high.  Lucille 'Lucy' Wallace also deserves some recognition as  she  scored her first  run of the season.
 Sheldon  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Salem only posted  an  OBP of  .308.
 Sheldon's record now sits at 14-9. As for South Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
 South Eugene couldn't quite get it done against Sheldon when the teams last played  back in April as they fell  10-6. Can the Axe avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
