The Hi-Plains Patriots suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Stratton at home and fell 74-38. While losing is never fun, Hi-Plains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Stratton is ranked 86th).
Despite the loss, Hi-Plains still got an impressive performance from Bex Seaman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Hi-Plains has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Stratton, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hi-Plains the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cheylin at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Cheylin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Hi-Plains likes a good challenge. As for Stratton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Eads at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Eads focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
