The Ysleta Indians won the last time they faced the Parkland Matadors, and things went their way on Friday too. Ysleta took down Parkland 52-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ysleta.
Azaiah Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Soria, who scored 11 points.
Ysleta pushed their record up to 18-10 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Parkland, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ysleta will take on Bel Air at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Parkland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
