Brandon is 9-1 against Petal since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Brandon will be playing in front of their home fans against Petal at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Brandon sitting on four straight wins and Petal on three.
On Saturday, Brandon made easy work of South Jones and carried off a 12-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jay McQueen, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Brandon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Graydon Walker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Brandon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petal). They put the hurt on St. Stanislaus with a sharp 16-4 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Nathan Carter looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).
On the hitting side, Easton Giger was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Dawson Dykes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Petal pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only 4.9 in the others. As for Brandon, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brandon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Petal struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Brandon skirted past Petal 2-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Brandon repeat their success, or does Petal has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
