The Dumont Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Cliffside Park Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Dumont pushed their score all the way to 66 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Dwight Morrow by a score of 68-66.
Meanwhile, Cliffside Park came up short against Ridgefield Park on Tuesday and fell 49-41. Cliffside Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jerelz Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Ken Hunter was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Dumont's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Cliffside Park, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
Dumont was able to grind out a solid victory over Cliffside Park in their previous matchup back in January, winning 60-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dumont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
