Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as First Flight did.
First Flight's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Stanley led the charge by scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Stanley hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Caroline Gardill, who scored four points along with 16 rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Hertford County still got an impressive performance from Jaliyah Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adarielle Townsell, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Hertford County struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
First Flight has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Hertford County, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
