Lincoln Charter is 8-2 against Pine Lake Prep since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lincoln Charter Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Pine Lake Prep Pride at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Lincoln Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Lincoln Charter is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Langtree Charter Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lincoln Charter blew Langtree Charter Academy out of the water with a 73-42 final score. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 24 point advantage.
Among those leading the charge was Krishtan Flowers, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Norris, who posted eight points.
Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Raptors by a score of 75-64. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Raptors are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pine Lake Prep's win came from a few key players Lincoln Charter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jamie Lawson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Chris Luceri was another key player, putting up 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lincoln Charter's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points per game. As for Pine Lake Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Lincoln Charter and Pine Lake Prep are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lincoln Charter hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 71.1 points per game. However, it's not like Pine Lake Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Lincoln Charter came up short against Pine Lake Prep when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-57. Can Lincoln Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
