The Highland Huskies posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. Everything went their way against Liberty Common as Highland made off with a 46-21 victory. Given Highland's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Liberty Common is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Briza Flores was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Jones, who scored six points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Liberty Common, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Highland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Windsor Charter Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Windsor Charter Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Wednesday. As for Liberty Common, they will head out on the road to take on Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wellington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday.
