Basketball Recap: Prescott Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Prescott has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took an 84-69 bruising from the River Falls Wildcats on Monday. The Cardinals lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-31 score last time.

Emmett Otto and Kobe Russell certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Otto posted 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Russell had 19 points and seven rebounds. Russell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eyan Miller, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Prescott's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3. As for River Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prescott won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Altoona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Falls, they will head out on the road to challenge Hudson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Falls is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
