The Palm Beach Christian Prep Saints will square off against the St. Edward's Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Palm Beach Christian Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Central Florida Christian Academy. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Palm Beach Christian Prep just coasted through the last quarter.
Grant Turner had a dynamite game for Palm Beach Christian Prep, throwing for 280 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes. Kendrick Pierre also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, St. Edward's strolled past Faith Christian with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 37-21.
St. Edward's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nicky Colontrelle out in front who picked up 104 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Nate Sparkman was another key contributor, throwing for 159 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Faith Christian to a paltry 236 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to St. Edward's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Gary Anderson and his two sacks.
Palm Beach Christian Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 3-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Central Florida Christian Academy, SmartEn Sports Academy, and Duval Charter. As for St. Edward's, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Palm Beach Christian Prep against St. Edward's in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-0 win.
