The Benson Bunnies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Lincoln East.
Benson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Goanar Bamach, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, and Noah Faya who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Johnson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jang Dak was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds.
Benson's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Lincoln East, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Benson will take on Bellevue East in a holiday battle at 5:45 p.m. on Friday at. Lincoln East will be home for the holidays to greet Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Coriahnn Gallatin and Carter Mick.
