After flying high against the Windham Whippets last Thursday, the New Fairfield Rebels came back down to earth. New Fairfield took a 22-7 bruising from New Milford on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, New Fairfield couldn't push the score so high this time.
Michael Traynor threw for 115 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Drew Colesworthy was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Kyle Martin rushed for 64 yards.
Jack Balzi was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
New Fairfield has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 4-6 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.7 points per game. As for New Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
