The Tri-State Christian Huskies came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 51-44 win over Pathway Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tri-State Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Tri-State Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nick Vannorsdel out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Vannorsdel pulled down eight or more rebounds. Will Cunningham was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Pathway Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Denver Nelson, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Yutzy, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Tri-State Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Pathway Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-State Christian will face off against Unity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Unity Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Pathway Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Quad Cities Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Quad Cities Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game.
