5A Region II District 9 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Pearce moved up to 425 from 512 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 9.
Pearce's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Craig Lair has thrown for 407 yards and two touchdowns this season, while J.r. Griffin has 22 catches for 299 yards. Kedron Banks leads the league in rushing with 232 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Dallas Jesuit and Skyline. The Rangers comes into the matchup ranked 25th in the state, while the Raiders ranks eighth.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Dallas Jesuit and Skyline meet this week. Brandon Hickman's team features well-regarded senior Jake Oliver while Reginald Samples's team has Cedric Collins, a sought after defensive back.
The Mustangs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,120 from 5,031.
