On Saturday, Central beat Pitman 54-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Pitman is ranked 121st).
Central found their leader in underclassman Brandon Madison-smith, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Branden Ezell, who scored 14 points.
The win got Central back to even at 3-3. As for Pitman, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.
Central is on the road again on Wednesday and play against El Diamante at 4:00 p.m. on December 13th. Pitman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st.
