In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Kemp, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Richie Talavera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Bishop Union's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Desert hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318.
