The Henry-Senachwine Mallards will head out on the road to face off against the LaMoille Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Henry-Senachwine was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Midland. While losing is never fun, Henry-Senachwine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Midland is ranked 103rd).
Meanwhile, LaMoille's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amboy.
Brayden Klein put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jhett Cowser, who scored 9 points.
Their wins bumped Henry-Senachwine to 3-3 and Midland to 5-1.
Everything came up roses for Henry-Senachwine against LaMoille in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 66-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Henry-Senachwine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
