It was a good run, but the LEAD Academy Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 66-49 fall against Northwest. LEAD Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northwest apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
Brandon Fields and Anthony Petway certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Fields scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds, while Petway scored 12 points along with 5 assists. The contest was Petway's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Balin Gaines, who scored 8 points.
LEAD Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Northwest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LEAD Academy will take on Donelson Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Donelson Christian Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Northwest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Northeast is on a three-game streak of home losses, Northwest a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
