The Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 33-28 W over Franklin.
Leading Heartland Lutheran to victory were Brielle Saddler and Ella Francl. Saddler scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Francl scored 11 points along with four steals. Francl hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ema Koch, who scored five points.
Several Flyers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Audra Goosic, who scored three points along with five steals. Allison Boettcher was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Franklin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heartland Lutheran only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Heartland Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Franklin, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heartland Lutheran will take on Red Cloud at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin, they will be playing at home against Loomis on Tuesday. Loomis and Franklin are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
