Frostproof has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Frostproof had to settle for a 51-48 loss against the Vikings. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frostproof has scored all season.
Sevastian Rosado put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 33 points along with five steals. Rosado is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Blakely, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Seffner Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Jesuit, falling 77-46. While losing is never fun, Seffner Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Tigers are ranked 86th).
Frostproof's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Seffner Christian, they dropped their record down to 11-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Frostproof took a serious blow against the Crusaders in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 93-62. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Seffner Christian's Vernon Lee jr, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 3 assists. Now that Frostproof knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
