Despite a strong season so far, The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Dolphins have seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell to Salem 33-27.
Despite the loss, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional still got an impressive performance from Jayden Barber, who threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 93 yards. Oliver Doto also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-3. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Salem, Somerset Berkley Regional, and Barnstable. As for Salem, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional will head out on the road to face off against Sandwich at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Sandwich is ranked 125th, while Dennis-Yarmouth Regional is ranked 120th). As for Salem, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Cardinal Spellman at 6:30 p.m. on November 10th.
