The Princeton Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hall/Putnam County Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Last Friday, Princeton got themselves on the board against Mendota, but Mendota never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 55-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Princeton, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Princeton found their leader in underclassman Casey Etheridge, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Etheridge is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Christiansen, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Hall/Putnam County fell victim to Rockridge's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 35-0 loss at the hands of the Rockets. While losing is never fun, Hall/Putnam County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Rockridge is ranked 142nd).
Princeton's victory lifted them to 7-1 while Hall/Putnam County's defeat dropped them down to 3-4.
