The Freeman Scotties scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Kellogg 63-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Freeman.
Freeman found their leader in underclassman Natalie Semprimoznik, who scored 29 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Semprimoznik has scored at least 25% of Freeman's points. Another player making a difference was Taylee Phelps, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Kellogg still got an impressive performance from Macy Jerome, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and five steals. The match was Jerome's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Coe, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Freeman back to even at 5-5. As for Kellogg, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeman will take on Deer Park at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Deer Park will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Kellogg will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Maries at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
