Baseball Recap: Cleveland's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cleveland waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Seaforth Hawks. Considering the Rams have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Lynn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Lynn was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Mason Rodgers looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brayden McArthur and Brooks Moore did most of the damage at the plate: McArthur scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Moore scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Moore posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Ty Lee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cleveland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Cleveland's record now sits at 5-2. As for Seaforth, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Cleveland will host Southeast Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Seaforth, they are taking a road trip to challenge Grace Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so Seaforth's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
