La Salle College strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Neumann-Goretti Saints by a score of 7-2. The Explorers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Saints, too.
La Salle College got a great performance from Chris Cavalcante as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). Cavalcante has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Matt Mullin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brycen Clarke, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
La Salle College's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Neumann-Goretti, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
