The Davie War Eagles were the 78-71 winner over the West Forsyth Titans when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Davie fell 72-59 to West Forsyth on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Davie still had to take the loss.
Several War Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Powers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Powers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ratledge, who scored 15 points.
West Forsyth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron White out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jacari Brim was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Davie and nudges their season record down to 18-3. As for West Forsyth, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Davie will head out on the road to square off against Parkland at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Parkland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for West Forsyth, they will be playing at home against R.J. Reynolds at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Forsyth's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches.
