4A Foothills recap September 10, 2013
Mesa Ridge was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in 4A Foothills. Earlier in the week, the Grizzlies triumphed over Sierra 31-13.
Pueblo Centennial scaled the state rankings by moving to 76 from 105 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of beating Pueblo Central 41-29.
Quincy Kindred was a force in the backfield as Pueblo Centennial bested the Wildcats.
Mitch Guhl put up the best numbers in passing as Cheyenne Mountain defeated Palmer. He finished with 9 completions for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Guhl's favorite target this week was Kai Case, who caught 3 passes for 67 yards.
Kindred was a passing and rushing force as Mike Palumbo's team topped Pueblo Central.
Kindred was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 281 yards on 17 carries as the Bulldogs bested Rampart. Caleb Miranda also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Larson was the best wideout in 4A Foothills this week as the Cyclones beat the Rams. Larson tallied 2 receptions for 74 yards.
Pueblo South's 5-foot-11 quarterback Nathan Spinuzzi is the league leader in passing yards this season with 333. The leading receiver in the league this season is Logun Javernick. The Canon City star has 8 catches for 132 yards.
Canon City and Elizabeth played the closest game in the league this week, with Canon City eventually emerging with a 23-20 victory.
