Southwest Guilford entered their tilt with Southeast Guilford on Monday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 68-64 W against the Southeast Guilford Falcons. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Falcons are ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southeast Guilford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Byron Arant, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Arant is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayce Brannon, who posted 17 points.

Southwest Guilford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. As for Southeast Guilford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Southwest Guilford has already played their next contest, an 87-61 victory against Grimsley on the 18th. Southeast Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
