St. Henry got a great performance from Max Hilgeman as he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Tyler Detzel was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Gage Peace, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
St. Henry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Scott posted their closest win since May 17, 2025 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Newport Central Catholic.
The team relied heavily on Eli Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Scott is undefeated when Smith posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Blake Groneck was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Scott's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for St. Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
