Cheyenne Wells is 1-9 against Holly since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Tigers will challenge the Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Cheyenne Wells sitting on three straight wins and Holly on 12.
Cheyenne Wells is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wiley with a sharp 11-4 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Taegen Eiring was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Marriott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Holly got the win against Springfield on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-5. The Wildcats are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the tenth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Truman King was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holly is undefeated when King allows three or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise. King was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drayden Williams, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Coy King was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Holly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive matchups.
Holly pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Cheyenne Wells, their record is now 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cheyenne Wells has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Holly struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cheyenne Wells suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Holly when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
