Munroe hasn't had much luck against Maclay recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bobcats will challenge the Marauders at 2:00 p.m. Munroe has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sneads hit Munroe with a seven-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Munroe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylen Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Moore has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Maclay entered their tilt with Rickards on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders an 18-0 shutout. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 12 runs or more this season.
Beau Beshears and Ben Wagnon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Beshears tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wagnon struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Beshears has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Beshears went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Wagnon got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one double. That's the most stolen bases Beshears has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Ben Burdette was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Poppell, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Maclay hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Munroe's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Maclay, their record is now 8-5.
Munroe might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Maclay in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
