The Valley View Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Moreno Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley View is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Valley View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Temescal Canyon. Valley View has struggled against Temescal Canyon recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Valley View saw an underclassman step up: Charles Knight scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks. Knight has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jalyn Talbert, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though Moreno Valley has not done well against San Bernardino recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Moreno Valley took down San Bernardino 65-46.
Jamall Thompson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Alijah Maloid was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Moreno Valley, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Valley View didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Moreno Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win.
