Pana is 2-8 against Teutopolis since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pana Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Pana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
Pana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Mt. Zion on the road and fell 68-17. While losing is never fun, Pana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Mt. Zion is ranked 136th).
Joey Laker was Pana's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Lilly Rochkes held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Teutopolis blew past Richland County, posting a 53-20 win on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Teutopolis.
Pana has fallen quite a ways from their 24-10 record last season and are now at 2-8. As for Teutopolis, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Pana was able to grind out a solid win over Teutopolis in their previous matchup back in February, winning 59-52. Will Pana repeat their success, or does Teutopolis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
