The Central Panthers pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Eugene.
Among those leading the charge was Trey Saunders, who scored 26 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Yoder, who scored 17 points.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for South Eugene, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Central will look to defend their home court on Friday against Canby at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Canby focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for South Eugene, they will head out on the road to face off against Sunset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
