The Powell County Wardens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 40-30 to Drummond. Powell County has struggled against Drummond recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Drummond got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexi Nelson out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Remington Cline, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Powell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Drummond, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powell County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Loyola-Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Drummond won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Helena Christian at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th.
