On Friday, The Metter Tigers got themselves on the board against the Claxton Tigers, but the Claxton Tigers never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 42-0 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Metter had established a 28 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Metter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Ricks, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Thomas Chicola was another key contributor, throwing for 109 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Metter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Claxton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Screven County the next time they take the field. Claxton will host Screven County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Metter will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
