It was a proper cat-fight when Seymour challenged Archer City on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-2 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Brayden Loyd made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Slade Tucker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Jaxon Carrington was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Archer City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
