St. Francis has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Whitewater Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully the Whippets like a good challenge.
St. Francis pushed their score all the way to 86 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 97-86 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ozaukee. That's two games in a row now that St. Francis has lost by exactly 11 points.
The losing side was boosted by Keenan Green, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Budzien, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Whitewater pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 75-57 fall against Turner. While losing is never fun, Whitewater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Trojans are ranked 128th).
St. Francis' loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Whitewater, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
St. Francis strolled past the Whippets in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 61-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
