The Skyline Falcons waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 65-54 win over Roosevelt. That's another feather in the cap for Skyline, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Skyline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameren Sanchez, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanchez has scored all season. Rahman Carson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Roosevelt lost, one person who can't be blamed is Seppe Salvatore. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 15 rebounds. Salvatore continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Salvatore, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Skyline's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Roosevelt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Skyline will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Riverdale Ridge at 7:00 p.m. As for Roosevelt, Roosevelt and Thompson Valley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Thompson Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 389 points over their last five games.
