The West Point-Beemer Cadets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over St. Francis on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Point-Beemer also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
West Point-Beemer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blaize Brockman out in front who scored nine points. Peyton Penrose was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
West Point-Beemer's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for St. Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Point-Beemer and Fort Calhoun will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Fort Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. St. Francis and Howells-Dodge will face off on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Howells-Dodge is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
