Basketball Recap: Soledad Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Soledad entered their tilt with North Salinas on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the North Salinas Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. That's more bragging rights for the Aztecs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pablo Morales Iv continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 24 points and five boards. Anikan Tavarez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Soledad was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Salinas only racked up six assists.

When it comes to explaining why North Salinas lost, don't look at Trevon Kubulan. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Kubulan a new career-high. Jesse Mendez was another key player, earning nine points.

Soledad's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for North Salinas, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Coincidentally, Soledad and North Salinas will both be playing Gonzales the next time they take the court. North Salinas will host Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Soledad will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
