Lowell and Hebron are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will host the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lowell will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Hanover Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Devils blew past the Wildcats 13-4 on Tuesday. While the Red Devils didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Zack Smith tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lowell is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Lowell got a massive performance out of Mason Brooker, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and two doubles. Those four hits gave Brooker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camden Mikulich, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Lowell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .487. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hebron). They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over Marquette Catholic on Wednesday. The Hawks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024 (when they won 16-0).
Camden Mulhern was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Mulhern was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Spencer Spinks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Owen Walstra was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lowell's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hebron, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5-1.
Everything went Lowell's way against Hebron in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lowell made off with a 21-1 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
