Elkmont fell victim to Colbert County's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, St. John Paul II pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They and Madison County were almost perfectly matched up, but St. John Paul II suffered an agonizing 36-35 loss.
Elkmont has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for St. John Paul II, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
