Hallsville is 9-1 against North Callaway since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hallsville Indians will take on the North Callaway Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hallsville waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Shelby 60-31 at home. Given Hallsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while South Shelby is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, North Callaway took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 78-47 win over Silex. The victory was just what North Callaway needed coming off of a 66-44 loss in their prior game.
Sam Pezold had an outrageously good game as he scored 27 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Callaway's points. Another player making a difference was Levi Drake, who scored 12 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Hallsville's win pushed their record up to 3-0, while South Shelby's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-3.
Everything went Hallsville's way against North Callaway in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Hallsville made off with a 68-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hallsville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
