Baseball Recap: Seekonk Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bourne

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seekonk). They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Bourne Canalmen on Wednesday. The Warriors have beaten the Canalmen the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Canalmen has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Greyson Baldizar, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Johnny Payne was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Seekonk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Seekonk now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bourne, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seekonk will square off against Foxborough at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Foxborough will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Seekonk surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bourne, they will take on Somerset Berkley Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Canalmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
