Adding to the longest winning streak in Eastern South Dakota this week, Riggs beat Huron 44-12. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Brandon Valley led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Washington.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Yankton's Mason Strahl and JJ Hejna have proven to be a lethal combination. Strahl has thrown for 703 yards this season, while Hejna, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 19 catches for 467 yards. Mitch Johnson from Mitchell leads the league in rushing with 250 yards.
A big matchup in Eastern South Dakota this week will be when Watertown takes on the Bucks/Gazelles. At the moment, the Arrows are in fourth, while Yankton is in fifth.
Arlin Likness' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,270 from 8,854. The improvement was the result of a 24-14 victory over O'Gorman last week.
