Holly has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Primero Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Holly pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Crowley County. Holly has struggled against Crowley County recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Holly saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Truman King, who scored 23 points, was perhaps the best of all. Devin Eaton was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Meanwhile, Primero pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 71-55 fall against Walsh. It was the first time this season that Primero let down their fans at home.
Holly's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Primero, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Holly against Primero when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 68-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
