Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White House-Heritage). They never let the Stratford Spartans get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Cameron Jackson and Nolan Keathley were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Jackson struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Keathley pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At bat, Jackson went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Keathley went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Keathley has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Justin Smith was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Waggoner, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.
White House-Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
White House-Heritage's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
