The Carbon Dinos''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 39-0 loss at the hands of Grantsville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carbon in their matchups with Grantsville: they've now lost six in a row.
Grantsville was led to victory by Dallan Van vliet and Jayden Atkinson. Van vliet threw for 97 yards and a touchdown, while Atkinson rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Bishop and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Grantsville's win.
Carbon's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Richfield and 8-2 Canyon View (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.5% over those games). As for Grantsville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Carbon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grantsville will take on Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Canyon View is ranked 53rd, while Grantsville is ranked 71st).
